City Clerk
The City Clerk is responsible for maintaining and providing access to the official records of the City of Worthington. This includes drafting agendas for City Council meetings, preparing and preserving meeting minutes, and maintaining key city documents such as ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and agreements.
In addition to recordkeeping, the City Clerk's office provides a variety of administrative and regulatory services to support city operations and ensure compliance with local and state laws.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepares and distributes agendas for City Council meetings and various city committees.

Attends and records official proceedings of the City Council and other assigned boards or committees.

Maintains complete and accurate minutes of all City Council meetings.

Coordinates the publication of all required legal notices in a timely manner.

Attends public bid openings and maintains official bid records.

Administers all municipal elections and coordinates election judges to staff polling places.

Maintains and preserves all public records in compliance with the City of Worthington ordinances and Minnesota State Statutes.

Processes and maintains business licenses and permits, including those for liquor sales, mobile food units, transient merchants, and peddlers/solicitors.

Administers charitable gambling permits in accordance with applicable laws.

Maintains the official records of all licenses, permits, and bonds issued by the city.

Prepares the annual operating budget for the City Clerk’s department.

Serves as the official secretary to the Economic Development Authority and the Board of Review.
Through these responsibilities, the City Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring transparency, accessibility, and the smooth operation of city government.
