Center for Active Living
The Center for Active Living is located in downtown Worthington on 11th Street, just one block off Main Street.
Constructed in April 2013, the building offers a wide range of amenities. The Center renovated part of the former YMCA,
refurbishing the racquetball courts, smaller gymnasium, and lower level, which includes pool tables and space for card
playing and program activities.
The newly constructed upper level includes bathrooms with shower facilities, a catering kitchen, a small meeting room
with a computer lab and Wi-Fi, and a full dining and activity room for programs or events. Continuing traditions that
began in the 1970s, the Center for Active Living provides programs and events for community members age 55 and older.
Daily activities include card playing, board games, pool games, racquetball, and pickleball.
With its permanent location now in place, the Center for Active Living is expanding programs to include health education
and screenings, social activities to reduce loneliness and promote connection, expanded fitness programs, mental
wellness and alertness activities, active-aging awareness, special events and day trips, and additional volunteer
opportunities within the community.
