411 Anonymous Tip System for Enhanced Community Safety
The Worthington Police Department is enhancing public safety and community engagement with the launch of a new mobile app that allows residents to receive alerts, access important information, and submit anonymous tips directly from their smartphones.
Developed by tip411, the Worthington PD app puts a powerful new communication and crime-fighting tool into the hands of community members of all ages. The app is available for free download for both iPhone and Android devices.
"Our department is committed to building strong partnerships with the community we serve," said Worthington Police Chief Troy Appel. "The Worthington PD app gives residents a safe and completely anonymous way to share information with our officers, helping us prevent crime, solve cases, and work together to keep Worthington a safe place to live, work, and raise a family."
The new Worthington PD app enables the public to submit anonymous tips to police and allows officers to respond back through a secure two-way anonymous conversation when additional information is needed.
"We've listened to feedback from partners like Worthington Police and have built a more advanced and innovative product to help agencies better engage their communities," said tip411 President Terry Halsch. "The Worthington PD app, powered by tip411, will greatly improve the public's access to agency alerts, social media channels, important information, and more to help fight crime."
The Worthington PD app and tip411 anonymous tip system are 100% anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before officers see the tips and there is no way to identify the sender.

Those without a smartphone can still submit anonymous tips by text message. To send an anonymous tip via text message to the Worthington Police Department, text the keyword WORTHINGTONPD and your tip to 847411 (tip411).
