Becoming a Worthington Police Officer

  1. Desirable Experience and Training:

    Associates Degree from an accredited college

    Previous law enforcement experience

     

  2. Special Requirements:

     US Citizen

     Possession of a Peace Officer License or eligibility to be licensed through the State of Minnesota POST Board

     Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid and unrestricted Minnesota Driver’s License

     Physical condition satisfactory to fulfill the duties of the positon as determined by a physician

      Pass a thorough background investigation, psychological evaluation, medical examination, and drug test

     

  3. Work Environment:

  Base Patrol Schedule: 12 hour shifts (3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off- every other weekend off)

  Well-equipped and maintained squad cars

  Assigned squads, stored in a climate-controlled garage
