This portion of the park was donated by industrialist E.O. Olson and his wife, Bella G. Olson, in 1943, 1944, and 1945.

  • Playground equipment new in 1994–1995.
  • Two floating docks new in 2001, extended in 2008, approximately 150 feet west of Beach Nook and the sand beach to serve boat parking.
  • Shoreline rip-rap in 2001–2002.

  • Bridge across Whiskey Ditch.
  • Privately operated concession operation (Beach Nook) opened in 2006.
  • Renovated restrooms (accessible) in 2007.
  • Renovated and expanded concession area to provide sales of prepared food items in 2007.
  • Expanded concrete patio area, sand beach area, and marginal grass areas; relocated bike rack in 2008.
  • Constructed recreation trail in 2006.
  • Installed security lighting for the recreation trail and sidewalk in 2008.
  • Installed permanent, in-place trash cans with rubber-coated paint in 2008.
  • 10-foot bike rack to serve beach users.
